La Quinta by Wyndham Miami Airport West ★★★

The property was clean and convenient for Miami cruise port access. Staff were very personable and tried to be very helpful with our inquiries but language was a slight challenge as English understanding was limited. The shuttle was arranged through hotel which was a plus for our group. We were disappointed that the pool facilities were closed for repair and we were not advised upon arrival. Kids very sad as not able to swim coming from a cold location and long plane ride. Overall, a pleasant stay.

The elevator was very slow and had limited space. But grateful not to have to use stairs. One family had to switch rooms as air not working. Limited things to do in area due to heavy rain storms but made the best time. We enjoyed a terrific dinner at an Italian restaurant in walking distance which was great for our large group. Early night after travelling so we were good with comfy beds and didn’t not need a lot.

Breakfast was OK, not great. We stayed 2 nights, and Our room was not attended to while we were there.

The hotel location is awesome, is really good to be able to go to basically anywhere on Miami on a short time.; It's way cheaper than staying on the Downtown. There are restaurants near by to go an eat.

The breakfast is terrible, always the same food, sometimes feels it was reheated sausages from the day before, no variety, not even scrambled eggs. The fruit was fine and the waffles are a staple on the breakfast, also some cheeses or ham would have been great. The rooms needs more attention to detail, there was no housekeeping even when asked, also it needs to vacuum the entire hotel carpet.

The restaurant is outsourced. It’s almost a one man show He attended well but could not handle too many guests at the same time.

The bed was so uncomfortable, they need to replace the mattress. It made a lot of noise and very Uncomfortable, could not sleep. No more rooms

Breakfast, The rush kind of sucked, but you expect that in most free continental breakfast. Other than it was solid.

Location was right by the airport, but further away from ocean drive. The room was clean and comfortable.

There was no breakfast as advertised due to Covid-19 and there was no substitution not even water or a banana. The room was clean and comfortable but house keeping did not come one time. So no new towels or trash taken out. Even when I saw housekeeping on the floor (which apparently our room was skipped) I informed her that our room had not been clean. Once I came back it still hadnt. And I was there for 3 days

Shuttle service..runs on the hour from hotel and around the half hour from the airport (not 24hr). Drivers were lovely. reception staff were helpful. Room was very spacious (had two doubles), amenities as expected. Breakfast was self service and ample. Didn't use the pool or Jacuzzi as weather not good. Gym looked OK. Didn't try the washing facilities.

I asked about the shuttle service three times before our stay and got no reply from the hotel. If staying longer then a car would be needed as only restaurants within walking distance...we used an occasional taxi (cost $15 to International mall). Flights started before 0400 but were infrequent.

The staff at this property is very friendly, Shirley is a sweetheart.

The breakfast was VERY limited. Wish we had gone out for breakfast instead.

Big and spacious rooms, Which were well equipped. Free and good parking! Nice continental breakfast! Staff were brill, the Cuban who drove the airport shuttle, kept us amused, I’d sing him the opening lyrics from a Beatles song and he’d would sing the song..... made our journey! Also the gent on breakfast who visited Coventry with his school band, really friendly and accommodating, as were all the staff without exception!

No bar or restaurant! Local amenities sparse, although there is a nice Italian restaurant across the road!

We checked in for an additional night as originally booked. This seemed to be a big problem. The key cards didn’t work. Both days. Next day we had to check out and check in all over for the next night. Everything out of the usual was a problem. The room was ice cold. The shuttle driver was unfriendly. Couldn’t stop talking about himself and how smart he is. Knew everything best and our request to turn down the AC was turned down in a very unfriendly way: “who do you think you are. I decide. I know best”. We were freezing cold. Next day a different driver. Just as unfriendly. He left the hotel 20 min later as scheduled. Not good if you need to catch a flight. Couldn’t be found from the staff and us. Then he was irritated. The shuttle leaves the hotel every hour. Too far from the airport. Always traffic jam as we were told. Returned our car rental. Needed 45 min to get to the airport. Then we had to wait more than an hour for the hotel shuttle back. I will not be back there.
